The Burnet High School volleyball team began the second round of District 24-4A play the same way it began the first round — with a win against Lago Vista.
The Lady Dawgs won 25-22, 26-24, 25-23 Oct. 10.
“The varsity girls battled, even being down as much as seven, to win in three straight sets,” head coach Crystal Shipley said. “It was a huge win against a great team.”
The Burnet ninth-graders and junior varsities also won in straight sets. The freshmen are 6-0 and in first place in the district standings, while the junior varsity is 5-1.
“They continue to improve and are so fun to watch,” Shipley said.
Burnet travels to play at Lampasas Friday, Oct. 14, with the varsity taking the court at 5 p.m. and the subvarsities following at around 6:30 p.m.
